Custom Functions
The Functions page in Developer Hub provides a central view of the Deluge functions available in your Zoho CRM organisation.
Access
Open Developer Hub → Functions in the dashboard, or use ?tab=functions.
An active CRM connection is required. CRM Deluge functions can be edited and published from the code editor; Marketplace functions and other runtimes remain read-only.
Overview
The list groups Zoho associations so that each function is shown once with the features that call it.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Function name |
| Source | CRM function or Marketplace plugin function |
| Language | Language reported by Zoho, usually Deluge |
| Callers | Number of rules, buttons or automations using the function |
| Referenced by | Names of calling features |
| Last modified | Modification date reported by Zoho |
Summary indicators show CRM functions, Marketplace functions, total callers and functions with no identified caller.
Function details and editing
Select a function name or use its action menu to open the detail panel. It shows metadata, callers grouped by feature type, the related CRM module and the Script tab when Zoho allows source access.
Marketplace functions may not expose their source code. Their metadata and associations remain available.
For CRM Deluge functions, the editor provides syntax highlighting, line numbers, folding, argument management and a changelog field. Argument types and names are validated before publication; duplicate or invalid identifiers are rejected. Zoho compiler errors include the line and column when available, and closing with unsaved changes requires confirmation.
AI assistant
The AI Assistant uses the user's configured BYOK key and responds in the account language. It never executes the function or uses CRM tools.
- Explain returns a structured summary, inputs and return value, processing flow, CRM APIs and connections, side effects, and notable risks.
- Analyze combines local checks with an AI review. It detects missing returns, hardcoded IDs, empty trigger collections, workflow recursion risks and expensive calls in loops. Code longer than 120,000 characters is analysed locally only.
- Improve proposes up to twelve targeted changes with rationale and before/after code. Each change can be accepted or rejected; applying changes preserves the function signature and arguments.
- Comment proposes a Deluge docblock with
@paramand@returnentries plus useful inline comments. Existing comments are preserved and only comments may change.
Before AI processing, Zepiq scans for private keys, bearer tokens, JWTs, API keys, sensitive assignments, headers and URL secrets. Values are redacted; comment and improvement actions are blocked when secrets are found, while explanation and analysis can continue on redacted code.
Completed explanations and analyses can be copied or shared by email. A valid BYOK configuration is required.
GitHub export
Deluge functions can be pushed individually or in bulk to the configured repository and branch. The confirmation shows the repository, branch and path zoho-functions/{organisation}/functions/{api_name}.dg; an optional changelog can be included. The latest commit status is displayed in the function detail.
Search and export
Use global search, sorting, filters and pagination. Export the full data set or the filtered view as CSV, Excel or PDF. Results are cached locally; refresh forces a new read from Zoho CRM.
Limitations
A CRM connection is required, script access depends on Zoho permissions, AI actions require BYOK, and publication remains subject to Zoho scopes and permissions.
